WHAT TO WEAR | Class

It’s that time of the school year where the weather transitions from the “still in the summer mode, so I’m going to rock my shorts and sandals” to the “I guess I spoke too soon—where are my sweaters and boots again?” If your classes happen to be far apart on campus and you’re dreading the cold air misery, layering is a definite must. The perks of layering is having the option to pile on as much clothing in order to adapt to the weather, as well as taking off as much as you want; just in case the sun decides to come out.
This Fashionista was on her way to class when I spotted her grunge and edgy take on layering. She sported an all black ensemble which included a chiffon top, skinny jeans, a leather jacket and a pair of cutout buckled boots. Since it was pretty chilly that day, she added a knit cardigan under her leather jacket, which made the outfit look warm and cozy. This Fashionista did not stop there. She completed the already rocking outfit with a stylish blue and green striped tartan scarf, which she snatched from Scotland. She also wore some dainty rings, which added a touch of femininity to this edgy look.
It can get quite confusing to figure out what to wear to school, and the weather network can be unreliable at times. Layering allows you the option of versatility, especially when you’re rushing to class and you’ve turned into a hot mess—we’ve all been there before. Although you might want to show off your best outfits and make the school hallways your runway, it’s important to put comfort first.
One Simple Change: Want to look cute for the boy you have a date with after class? Simply switch the black jeans with a bodycon skirt (paired with leggings if it’s a bit cold), and you’ve got yourself a flirty look while still remaining to look edgy.
