STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK | Over-The-Knee Friendly

If you can’t tell by now, summer has left the building, whilst fall is slowly making its way. It’s no longer the hot and sweaty weather; rather it’s just the right chill.  You know what this means? A new fall wardrobe!
What seems to still be in trend today are the adorable and lovable over-the-knee socks, which became popular in the ‘60s and ‘70s.  A great way to gain over-the-knee inspiration is from the charming character of Spencer Hastings, portrayed in the hit TV show, Pretty Little Liars. She’s got the over-the-knee style down pat! There’s something about over-the-knee socks that give off a preppy schoolgirl yet flirtatious vibe; it shows just the right amount of skin without revealing too much!
This lovely Fashionista did not fail to grab my attention. She rocked gray over-the-knee socks, which she paired with a denim circle skirt, along with a cropped black and white long sleeve T-shirt. As if the outfit wasn’t Spencer Hastings enough, this Fashionista completed the outfit with brown oxford shoes and a trendy Longchamp Le Pliage tote bag. What I love most about this outfit is the color palette this Fashionista sported—black, white, gray, brown and blue, thus creating a composition perfect for fall.
Before you run off, don’t be discouraged to recreate an outfit such as this. The best part about this outfit is that, there is no need to add on any jewelry. Over the knee socks is an accessory by itself! There are many ways to rock over the knee socks such as sheer tights paired with a skirt, cute shorts, dresses, knee-high boots and even an oversized sweater (check out the ivory color in this sweater to get a visual idea)! These possible outfits are especially perfect for the fall season—just the right amount of warmth.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Wear whatever you like. As simple as it sounds, it’s important to not feel intimidated by certain styles that you feel may not look good on you or not suit you. It’s good to be inspired by different styles of clothing, as this will help you create your own look. Don’t feel as though you can only put yourself out there with a certain image. Whether you like casual, edgy or sophisticated styles (or all three), wear whatever makes you happy!”
