STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Hoopful

As far as I can remember, hoop earrings were huge during the mid ‘70s to ‘80s. They then made their way back into popularity during the early 2000s and somewhere between the new and old, they gradually became out of style. Although hoop earrings are not as popular these days, who says you can’t be the odd one out? Styling hoop earrings and making them look good is not an easy job and requires at least some effort. One way to rock a pair of hoop earrings is by channeling a simplistic and chic outfit—hair in a bun, casual top, fitted jeans and some boots.
This feisty Fashionista wanted to prove that hoop earrings are fashionable and can be on trend. The first thing about this Fashionista’s outfit that catches your eye is the clean and tight bun, which gravitates your attention to the brass-plated hoop earrings. Her outfit showcases all neutral colors, with her beige coat being the staple piece. She wore a casual gray top paired with ripped denim skinny jeans, creating a perfect casual fall look and a compositional ensemble. This Fashionista threw in a splash of color by sporting a maroon knit infinity scarf, which brightens up the outfit. Her white Nike shoes stay consistent with the casual vibe of the outfit, as well as simplifies it but still manages to stay chic.
Hoop earrings can serve as dual purposes—fun and sexy. Although it may seem a bit risky to rock a pair, it’s important to be in the mind of a trendsetter and not a follower.
What is YOUR STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Never be basic. Simple as that.”
