Skirts are awesome—plain and simple.
Not only are they cute and chic, but they can also be transformed into
different types of style. Skirts can be worn in a girly, grunge, punk, preppy
and, of course, professional attire. They also come in a variety of colors,
prints and cuts. The most simple and classic of them all is black.
However, it takes a brave and courageous individual to break out of that mold
and make a statement through their clothes.
This daring Fashionista caught my eye
with her lovely vibrant lime
green skirt. It’s not everyday you see bright and
vibrant colored clothing, especially during the fall. Usually, I’m not a
huge fan of bright clothing, however, this Fashionista was able to pull it off
and rock it as well. What I enjoyed about her outfit was the way she paired the
skirt. She sported a maroon button-up
top, which she tucked into her skirt. Both colors surprisingly
complemented one another and didn’t clash at all. As if the outfit wasn’t bold
enough, this Fashionista rocked her toned down maroon-colored
boots, which I gushed over. She also had her headphones dangling
around her neck, which you could see students rocking 99.5 percent of the time.
This preppy but street-style look was able to simultaneously stand out of the
crowd and blend in by not being too over the top.
Whether you’re a fan of standing out
or blending in, both bright and toned-down colors make a statement nonetheless.
Don’t be afraid of choosing the wrong color schemes in your look. It’s the way you
confidently wear it and make it work. Also, there is no right or wrong way
of wearing an item—your individual style is indefinite.
How To: If you’re ever afraid to incorporate bright, vibrant colors
into your style, one easy and simple rule is to pair it with neutral colors,
such as black, gray, brown and white. Wearing a bright colored top with a skirt
or jeans is a good way to start. For example, wear a bright yellow
top with a black skirt.
Either way, pairing bright colors with neutral colors is a simple way to break
out of your comfort zone and try something new.
