Hello! To myself or whoever accidentally stumbled onto here...
I just wanted to announce that I started my own small business that is a candle shop! That's right... I'm doing what a million other folks are doing during a lockdown in a pandemic :)
But fear not, it does not end here when the pandemic subsides, no it does not...
I have worked really hard on curating this business of mine and it has presented both its successes and tribulations, as any new project does. I wanted to come on here and share it on my blog for my future self to look back on and grin at... because everyone does that, right?
Without further ado, I present to you:
RETROGRADE CANDLES:
Retrograde is a space of remembrance, igniting your nostalgia and mood whilst owning our identities through scented memories. Through these candles, we want to travel to the past, present, and future and allow ourselves to embrace the journey.
These candles are vegan, cruelty-free, non-toxic, and phthalate-free, made with 100% natural soy wax, phthalate-free fragrance oils, and 100% natural and unprocessed crackling wooden wicks. They are curated mindfully and consciously. All materials, including shipping and packaging, are eco-friendly, with a commitment to ethically and sustainably sourced resources. We are dedicated and committed to producing as little waste as we can, as well as reducing our carbon footprint, and allowing opportunities for recycling and repurposing when necessary. All products in Retrograde are intentionally purchased.

I have come out with my first launch titled 'Wistful Thinking', which is inspired by my childhood memories of fantasizing and wishing I could be a witch and use magic. It is a reflection of the innocent and wishful (no, not wistful 😉) thinking I had as a child and early teenager, that I could be like the witches and wizards I watch on tv, live in a world filled with magic and wonder and embody the fantastical things that are beyond our human comprehension.
To embrace our wild visions and fuse them into the person we are today. Whatever dreams and grandeur fantasies you conjured up during your childhood, I hope these candles can resonate with you.

Wistful thinking is my way of bridging the gap between melancholic and yearning desire of something that was missed in the past, by reigniting those fond memories that hold warmth, happiness and comfort—in whatever ways it can.
